Dr. Matt supports the use of a limited vaccine protocol that is dependent upon individual patient needs. Each pets’ vaccination schedule will be discussed during a consultation. IVS also supports the option of performing vaccine antibody titer testing. Titers are blood tests that check your pet’s immune status to vaccinations that they may have received in the past. If the titer results are positive, it means that there is adequate immunity to a particular infectious disease. This information allows us to make a more educated decision when determining if a vaccine booster is even indicated. IVS utilizes Kansas State University diagnostic laboratory for submitting and screening of vaccine antibody titer testing.
